acl, day three
- hustle up- galactic: they describe themselves as “jazz funk.” i think they sound like the beastie boys with a ben harper vibe. i’ve heard they usually bring guests when they perform, so be ready to see some folks from good ol’ NOLA take the stage with them.
- that teenage feeling- neko case: the new pornographers aren’t on the lineup this year, but at least we get neko case. it’s a little more alt-country…think a poppier, female version of ryan adams. (i bet you’re wondering how i manage to mention ryan adams in every post. sorry, i just love him so much.)
- i see the bright shinies- the octopus project: i don’t have a whole lot to say about this one. it’s instrumental, so i’m not a huge fan. it’s definitely interesting though.
- hand to take hold of the scene- okkervil river: this song is a lot more upbeat and has more instrumental variety than the majority of their music, but i still like it. for some reason, it reminds me of “the general” by dispatch, but that may be because they’re singing really fast. haha, i don’t know.
- come to me- south austin jug band: heard this song on kgsr…love, love, love it. they’re not as bluegrassy as their name might imply. i mean, there’s a fiddle and a mandolin. i guess you could compare them to nickel creek.
who i’m dying to see: the kills, stars, tristan prettyman
other big names: against me!, blues traveler, foo fighters (ugh), gnarls barkley, the raconteurs, silversun pickups, tegan and sara, xavier rudd

I like the Foo Fighters. Spur58 always told me I looked like Dave Grohl, but I never saw it.
