my bucket list.
a list of music festivals that i WILL attend before i die.
browse the 2008 lineups. i guarantee it will inspire you to love music more. after, of course, the initial, overwhelming wave of grief and horror that will slam you in the face after you realize what you missed out on this year.
1. BONNAROO- manchester, tennessee; mid june; 4 days for $230ish
4 days of camping with hippies. probably no showering. (i’ll take my dry shampoo spray!) jack johnson’s “constellations” featuring none other than eddie vedder. saw it on youtube. screamed like i was there. no shame here.
2. GLASTONBURY- glastonbury, england; late june; 3 days for £155 ($310)
they say this thing’s in a world of its own…900 acres of glory!!! and this happened at this year’s festival. believe it.
3. COACHELLA- indio, california; late april; 3 days for $270
it’s like a bigger acl. 5 months earlier. in CALIFORNIA. admit it…it would’ve been pretty amazing to see prince, the bird and the bee, and death cab on the same day.
4. SUMMER SONIC- tokyo, japan; early august; 2 days for ¥28,500 ($270)
let’s look past how much it would cost to actually fly there. just look at all the big names. holy crap, it would be so amazing.
5. MONOLITH- morrison, colorado; mid september; 2 days for $110
so it’s not as high caliber as some other summer fests, but who cares?!? it’s red rocks ampitheatre, people. no room for complaints here. beautiful scenery + beautiful musicians = heaven on earth.
