learn your indie music abc’s!

paste, one of my favorite magazines and blogs, has made its debut in the world of books. An Indie Music Alphabet Book is great for kids and adults alike. Taking you on the alphabetical journey from “A is for Animal Collective” all the way to “Now I know my indie scene, next time won’t you rock with me?” this book certainly kills two birds with one stone. Enrich your child’s burgeoning mind while giving him/her a head start in musical taste. This book is the first step toward a world without Hannah Montana, people! my favorite has to be: “musical scholars and snobs agree: belle and sebastian are perfectly twee.”

and they echo my concerns about a certain band’s inevitability of fading fast. “vampire weekend is hot, so we’re told. but will they be around when you’re another year old?”
