i’m not sure how they came up with this list. maybe sales or something?? i’m surprised #’s 17 and 24 made it into the top 25. also, #59? i kind of hated that album. and #72????? also looks like #’s 14 and 39 are slipping after being touted as for sure top 10’s by many, although #7 is still holding on. i’m a little surprised humbug didn’t make this list. or monsters of folk. not saying they deserved to, but im just surprised.

and man, i am SO GLAD that #90 is starting to get the attention it deserves.

One Response to “amazon’s 100 best albums of 2009”

  1. I actually bought 3 of the top 12, surprisingly (#1, #3 and #12). #1 is a very complete album actually. There is not a weak song on the entire album except for maybe track 15, which is just a bunch of crickets…literally. I’m also surprised MOF didnt make it, but the album was released kinda late and I think KGSR talks it up way more than most other people do, which would influence us since we actually listen to KGSR. I heard “Murder In the City” today by the Avett Bros and thought it was really good.
