peter gabriel, a gentleman and a scholar.

yeah, that title is completely irrelevant to what i’m about to write, but it’s the first thing that popped into my head, and if i’ve learned anything in life, it’s to always go with your gut instict. (clearly, i have not learned much in life.)

the tracklist for peter gabriel’s covers album is out. it’s called scratch my back. for whatever reason. i dont know. you dont just go questioning the lead singer of genesis and his creative choices.

not sure how i feel about this because, well, this happened last year, and it kind of made my ears bleed:

but, i am, at the very least, intrigued by the songs he chose to cover:

  • ‘Heroes’ (David Bowie)
  • ‘The Boy In The Bubble’ (Paul Simon)
  • ‘Mirrorball’ (Elbow)
  • ‘Flume’ (Bon Iver)
  • ‘Listening Wind’ (Talking Heads)
  • ‘The Power Of The Heart’ (Lou Reed)
  • ‘My Body Is A Cage’ (Arcade Fire)
  • ‘The Book Of Love’ (The Magnetic Fields)
  • ‘I Think It’s Going To Rain Today’ (Randy Newman)
  • ‘Apres Moi’ (Regina Spektor)
  • ‘Philadelphia’ (Neil Young)
  • ‘Street Spirit’ (Radiohead)

the album comes out in late january, and i hope we get some sneak peeks before then because I’M SO CURIOUS! like, bon iver??? seriously, SO CURIOUS!
