matt & kim cover the 80’s and 90’s

i was reading an article on consequence of sound today about matt & kim’s set at brookfest on saturday. they played four covers, and upon further research, it seems they have made a habit of playing these on a regular basis on tour.

first, europe’s “the final countdown.” (i think some of us forget that this was an actual song from the eighties, and not just a musical association to gob bluth.) this video is from pitchfork music festival last summer when the cover was used as an intro to everyone’s favorite, “daylight.”

then, alice deejay’s “better off alone” at coachella in april.

here’s to hoping they’re on the acl lineup next week because that looked like a freaking blast.
