2010: the playlist, part iii

#’s 6-10 on my top tracks of 2010.

see parts i and ii to catch up.

10. “all the right moves”- one republic

i fell head over heels for this top 40 hit and literally went insane trying to figure out who sang it after the first listen.

9. “cold hearted”- zac brown band

zb embraces his sensitive side and shows the world that the band’s about more than coastal getaways and fried southern delicacies.

8. “it doesn’t have to be beautiful”- slow club

a very twee english duo brings a knee slappin twist to the classic theme of a relationship whose end is in sight.

7. “block after block”- matt & kim

in my opinion, this is their best song ever and also my most played track of 2010 (and current ringtone), which is quite a feat considering the album didn’t drop til november.

6. “the water”- johnny flynn & laura marling

two british folk darlings showcase their impressive harmonic ability in this bareboned, pastoral ode.
